Insects are the “little ones who run our world”
– Renowned entomologist Edward O. Wilson.

Insects and spiders make up about 77% of all animal species on the plant. There are 300-400 species of silverfish, but only 15 species goldfish. There are more species of bees than birds. And, the number of species of moths is more than double that of all vertebrates combined!

Today, the quip “1 in every 3 bites of our or food comes from pollinators” is nearly ubiquitous. But, did you know that almost 90% of our flowering plants depend on insects for reproduction. Or that without insects we would be literally buried in poop? Life as we know it would simply not be the same without insects.

Want to learn more about insects and the myriad ways that insects impact your life? Come join us on our journey into the wonderful world of Amazing Arthropods!
