Rescheduled – Tick Borne Diseases with Blake Dinius

December 8, 2021 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

  • This event has passed.

Hate ticks? Ticks are not just creepy; They can transmit over 10 different diseases with potentially life-altering impacts.

Ticks are shrouded in both fear and misinformation. What yard sprays should you use? What about “all-natural approaches?” What about those stinkin’ deer? What if there was more you could do beyond just “covering up?”

In our workshop, we’ll discuss science behind ticks. We will bust myths and learn practical applications based on scientific research.

Together, we will review:

  • tick biology (e.g. tick identification, bite biology)
  • tick-borne disease epidemiology
  • personal protection methods (e.g. repellents, proper removal)
  • yard protection
  • pet protection

With the right knowledge and tools, all tick-borne diseases are preventable.

This is a FREE program, live at the museum. Pre-registration is strongly recommended and masks will be required.
