Seaweed collecting and pressing

July 9, 2024 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

  • This event has passed.

Shells and seaweed were also highly sought after during the Victorian era. Collectors would explore shorelines, armed with baskets and wellies, to find these natural treasures. Seaweed collecting is a valuable research tool for scientists, and also creates a beautiful decoration for your home. Let’s learn a little about different types of seaweed and start our own pressings. Meet at Brainard Marsh. Grades 2 and up.
