Join us for a mid-autumn hike where we will look for what mushrooms are still fruiting. We will chat about basic anatomy and diagnostic features for identifying mushrooms as well as how to identify a few beginner edible mushrooms and their closest non-edible look-alikes. Some potential species of fungi we may see at this time of the year include chicken of the woods, hen of the woods, shrimp of the woods, old man of the woods, various coral and ramaria spp, oysters, honey mushrooms, and the iconic fly agaric.
